Our Speakers

Martha York, LBSW

WellWise Services Area Agency on Aging

As the Community Education Coordinator at WellWise Services, Martha has been a Licensed Social Worker for 38 years. She obtained her bachelor’s degree from Michigan State University. Martha is a certified Master Trainer of several Evidence-Based Programs including Matter of Balance and additional Self-Management programs for people with chronic health conditions. Martha also specializes in dementia care, providing education and support for family caregivers. She is passionate about providing encouragement to people with varying health concerns and going through life transitions, helping them learn tools to better self-manage their conditions in ways that optimize wellness, improve their confidence, and strengthen their ability to participate in physical activity to do what they want to accomplish in life.

Dr. Kathleen

Dr. Kathleen Walworth graduated from Grand Valley State University in 2013 with her Doctorate of Physical Therapy. She completed the coursework required to become a Certified Exercise Expert for Aging Adults (CEEAA) in 2014 and the Advanced-Credentialed Exercise Expert for Aging Adults course in 2019. She successfully passed the American Board of Physical Therapy Specialties (ABPTS) examination to become a Board Certified Geriatric Clinical Specialist (GCS) in 2016. Areas of special interest include geriatrics, neurological disorders, gait and balance retraining, and vestibular rehab.
